Psalms Capítulo 4

These 150 prayers were used by the Hebrews to express their relationship with God. They cover the whole field of human emotions, from joy to hate, from hope to despair.

A Conservative Version

4 : 1 Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness. Thou have enlarged me in distress. Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

4 : 2 O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor? Will ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah.

4 : 3 But know that Jehovah has set apart for himself him who is holy. Jehovah will hear when I call to him.

4 : 4 Stand in awe, and sin not. Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

4 : 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in Jehovah.

4 : 6 Many there are who say, Who will show us good? Jehovah, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

4 : 7 Thou have put gladness in my heart more than when their grain and their new wine are increased.

4 : 8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for thou, Jehovah, alone make me dwell in safety.
