Psalms Chapter 87

These 150 prayers were used by the Hebrews to express their relationship with God. They cover the whole field of human emotions, from joy to hate, from hope to despair.

A Conservative Version

87 : 1 His foundation is in the holy mountains.

87 : 2 Jehovah loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

87 : 3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

87 : 4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among those who know me. Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: This man was born there.

87 : 5 Yea, of Zion it shall be said, this and that man was born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.

87 : 6 Jehovah will count when he writes up the peoples: This man was born there. Selah.

87 : 7 Those who sing as well as those who dance shall say, All my fountains are in thee.
